6 Sessions

In each in person class, we will teach you a new skill and we will bring a healthy snack we can prepare together along with eye opening activities and goal setting.

Session 1: Basics of eating for wellness and portion control

We will discuss how to determine which foods are essential for your body’s needs and discuss portion control and how to implement portion control.

Session 2: Breakfast of champions and “Grain”ular Health

This session discusses the importance of a “Brainy breakfast” and healthy grains. We will uncover how to choose a nutritious cereal and learn more about carbs and how they impact our bodies.

Session 3: Learn to love your fruits and veggies

This session we will discuss the importance of fruits and vegetables and how it impacts the brain.

Session 4: The Skinny on Fats

Did you know that fat is essential to our bodies? Yes, dietary fat in foods. In this session, we will learn more about achieving a “right” fat diet.

Session 5 : Protein Power

Our focus here is powering up with protein and play. We will take a deep dive into understanding why proteins are the framework that makes up our building. We will also discuss injury prevention during physical activity.

Session 6: Water is Life

Water is so essential for our bodies. Every cell in our body needs water. Let’s learn more about just how much we need for growing bodies and active bodies.
